Honeywell Refrigerants Launches New R-22 Retrofit Tools

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J., Mar. 6, 2012 — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced several new resources available to the refrigeration and air conditioning industry to assist with the transition away from R-22.

A new R-22 Retrofit page on the Honeywell Refrigerants website provides a comprehensive list of Honeywell Genetron® refrigerant options, whether the user is focused on air conditioning or refrigeration. The features and benefits of each refrigerant are described clearly to aid in decision-making. A number of more detailed technical documents are available to provide additional support to refrigeration engineers and air conditioning mechanics once they’ve narrowed their decision. For the more technically savvy, Honeywell’s new R-22 Retrofit app for iPad may be the answer.

In addition, Honeywell is proud to continue its long tradition of providing access to highly-trained technical staff via a toll-free technical hotline.

“Sometimes it’s just easier to talk to a real person, explain your problem, and get an answer,” said Ron Vogl, technical marketing manager, Honeywell Fluorine Products. “We have compiled all the information that we think is pertinent in one convenient location, but it may not answer every question. Transitioning away from R-22 is inevitable but it doesn’t have to be painful.”
