Contact: Europe Sabine Knaak +49 174-217-7336 sabine.knaak@honeywell.com New app will also provide information on Honeywell Authorised Dealers BRUSSELS, Belgium, Oct 11, 2016 — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the availability of a new mobile application to provide refrigeration and air conditioning professionals with quick and accurate data for on-the-go decision-making. The new app, called Honeywell Refrigerant Selection Tool EU, is downloadable from iTunes and will be available for both iPhones and iPads. “Many customers are looking for real time information about retrofits for products with a high global-warming-potential (GWP),” said Dr. Patrick Amrhein, marketing director for Honeywell Fluorine Products in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. “Our app helps customers understand the available choices to replace high-GWP products with new F-gas regulations-compliant refrigerants that offer both performance and environmental benefits.” Customers can conduct side-by-side comparisons for criteria such as capacity, efficiency or GWP, and the built-in refrigerant calculator helps to determine how much new refrigerant is needed to run the system. Contractors and end-users who want to ensure they are buying refrigerants that comply with the European Union’s F-gas regulations can find Honeywell Authorised Dealers anywhere in Europe with the help of an integrated distributor locator. Via direct access to Honeywell’s library of documents, the app allows customers to download brochures, case studies, P/T charts and other documents on Honeywell refrigerants. “Honeywell’s innovation extends beyond our research labs to making refrigeration and air conditioning professionals’ jobs easier,” Amrhein continued. “The prevalence of smartphones and tablets in the industry prompted us to consider how we could translate some of our most popular job aids into time- and money-saving tools for our customers.” Honeywell’s family of Solstice®-branded products includes refrigerants for stationary, commercial refrigeration and mobile refrigerants, liquid and gaseous blowing agents, solvents and propellants—all based on Honeywell’s new Solstice HFO technology that helps customers lower their carbon footprint without sacrificing end-product performance. Worldwide adoption of Solstice products has resulted in the reduction of more than 30 million metric tons of greenhouse gases to date, equal to eliminating emissions from more than 6 million cars. The apps are downloadable from iTunes along with the previously released PT Chart app. For more information on Honeywell refrigerants and available digital tools, visit www.honeywell-refrigerants.com/europe.
